A tomato and vinegar base carries it, layered with brown sugar, orange marmalade, and peach preserves.

This one has a story behind it. Granny's has been winning trophies for decades, and the recipe reads like an old family sauce that got dialed in over years of backyard cooks. The marmalade and peach give it a real fruit sweetness that sits on top of the tang, and the tomato and vinegar base keeps it balanced with a savory finish instead of just candy sweet. It runs thick enough to hold onto ribs and glossy enough to make a plate look like Sunday. Big Poppa Smokers bottles it at a full 18 ounces, so there is plenty for a long cook.

Mop it on ribs in the last stretch of the cook, once the meat is nearly done, so the sugars set into a glaze without scorching. It pours easy straight over brisket and chicken too, or sets out on the table as a dipping sauce. Warm it first and it brushes even cleaner.

Ribs and brisket

Pulled pork

Chicken and wings

Burgers and even fries

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0792/0114/0836/files/big-poppas-grannys-bbq-sauce-18oz-6539931.jpg?v=1788137496
